Sorting & Packing Instructions
Sort Based On Interface, Size & Form factor
Get hard drives to be packed from supervisor. Sort based on interface, size & form factor. While sorting make sure they all have a wiped sticker. Notify supervisor if a drive does not have wipe sticker.
Interface: usually mostly SATA,
Form factor: 2.5″ laptop drives. 3.5″ desktop or server drives
3.5″ Sizes for wholesale: 4TB, 2TB, 3TB, 1TB, 750GB, 500GB, 320GB
Cosmetics Check
Check the drive for physical damage and interface for any damage, put any damaged drives or drives accidentally dropped during packing on the damaged drive damaged pile. Check the appropriate boxes on the Physical Condition field.
check manufacturer labels
Some drives have 2 or more manufacturer labels, the main label and another serial number on the short side, if you are not sure ask, dont remove any labels you are not sure of.
Both Manufacturer Label Must Be Clean & Clear. Use Goof Off Or Goo Gone To Remove Marker Writing. Do Not Peel Off Any Manufacturer labels.
Do not spray drive with cleaning solution. Apply cleaning solution on cloth then gently wipe down, don’t rub off the manufacturer label.
Set aside hard drives with heavy marker writing that cannot be removed, go over with supervisor.
Unpacked Drive Sample Pictures
Take sample pictures of unpacked drives in good condition also take pictures of any drives that have marker writing that could not be removed or sticker residue etc We want customer to know what they are getting. Dont take a picture of all hard drives. You are just taking pictures of the sample of drives included in the box. Out of a box of 20 hard drives take 1 picture of 8 drives total group like shown below, good drives, drives with bad or torn labels or marker writing.
