Started wholesale pallet

Create a new wholesale vessel

  • Use a 48″ X 40″ standard pallet.
  • Do not use plastic pallets
  • Do not use pallets that have 2 middle beams.
  • Do not use broken pallets.
  • Remove all previous labels on the speedpack.
  • Put the speedpack in the center of the pallet with room for all sides.
  • Put foam at the bottom of the speed pack.

Apply Labels

    • Notify your supervisor when you start a new vessel.
    • Print #1170: WHOLESALE COSMETIC LAPTOP Vessel label and Pallet # label for wholesale vessel and apply on the vessel
    • Pallet #MMDDYY
    • Print Laptop Layer/Row Label and apply to the vessel
    • L1R1=Layer 1 Row 1
    • Print Wholesale Laptop Check Label

Photos and info needed for wholesale listings

  • Photo of bottom layer or multiple layers of speedpak or gaylord.
  • Overhead (overview) photo(s) of machines on pallet
  • Photos of ports for some machines in the case of AIOs or if requested by Ze
  • Photos of example damage on machines (3 example photos usually)
  • Info for the speedpak’s weight (tare doesn’t matter) and dimesions of which are usually 40x48x(height variable).
  • Any additional requests from Ze/Joseph. Please check with them before considering your work done. It is a good idea to check with them before starting to build above the bottom layer so that you don’t have to take it all apart later.

Testing

  • Wipe clean the laptops as needed.
  • Check and remove the asset tag.
  • The Erase Certificate must be included with the laptop. (Check the SN matches)
  • Get the brand and model of the laptop itself.
  • Power on the laptop to test the keyboard and trackpad. (Using USB stick from the team lead)
  • Autopilot status can be found in the database. Autopilot Check Repository
  • Remove all bulging or damaged batteries.
  • Record the specs from the erase certificate.
  • Record the note on the label for defects.
  • Tighten the laptop screws to avoid scratching other laptops when putting them away.

Put away

  • Put away: #1170: WHOLESALE COSMETIC LAPTOP (The vessel created earlier)
    • Stack laptops on the short side.
    • Stack laptops screen to screen, backs to backs.
    • Stack the laptop neatly.
    • When the row is filled up, count the laptops and fill out the Wholesale Laptop Check Label with the laptop number and initial. Call the second person initial after the number is confirmed.
    • Take pictures of every layer.
    • Isolate every row with cardboard.
    • Put foam between layers when starting a new layer.

New process to ensure cosmetic speedpaks are accurate

  • Starting from October 2025, the new plan is to verify the database of a cosmetic or for-repair speedpak once each new row is complete and counted. That way, we will have 3 chances in the bottom rows to catch problems before we begin building the second layer. This new process should avoid massive QC endeavors at the very end and should eliminate the issue of the number count being off at the very end.
  • Keep Cosmetic and For-Repair speedpaks physically away from each other! Never have them side by side. Putting just one away mistakenly into the wrong speedpak will me a very costly and time consuming QC process.
  • Alert the PC Tech Team Lead or Ze immediately if an incomplete form is created accidentally. We will want to correct it immediately before it gets buried under more entries and forgotten.
